Amy Scavezze

Colorado Program Manager

“I am so inspired by the lasting transformation that happens when a young person realizes they are capable and then proceeds forward in life confident in their ability to keep learning.”

Amy builds skills.

Amy is passionate about youth playing critical roles in society as active and invested citizens. She believes that empowering young people to develop the skills, competencies, and experiences they desire is life-changing. Amy loves working at GripTape because its model of providing resources without giving direction enables youth to have empowering, transformative experiences mapping the route of their own learning journey.

Amy’s background is in experiential education and outdoor leadership. She has served in leadership roles with teens and young adults through environmental conservation work, as an AmeriCorps program director, and as coordinator for volunteer service experiences for college students. She has coached youth and special needs adults for over two decades, including for the Special Olympics.

Amy’s favorite word is “play” — and she puts it to good use through sports, board games, and pranks. Outside of work, she is usually playing with her two young kids, finding adventure, and laughing as much as she can.
