Rachel helps out.

As Operations Coordinator, Rachel assists the team in ensuring systems run smoothly, from data management and finance to troubleshooting and outreach. She also works directly with Challengers each cycle, encouraging and learning from them as they undertake some truly remarkable projects. Rachel’s goal is to make sure everyone — Challengers, Champions, and the team — has the support they need to do their best work. 

Rachel has studied anthropology, Spanish, and creative writing. As a former journalist, she knows the impact a shift in perspective can have on someone’s worldview. She has been part of the leadership team of a number of community organizations focused on (among other things) promoting literacy and supporting LGBTQ+ rights. 

In her free time, Rachel enjoys desert hikes, working on her novel, and spending time at home with her two partners, three cats, and a three-legged dog.
